Hey guys! Have you ever came back from a long day out on a boat and had no energy to dock the boat? Well not to worry I have created something where the only thing you will have to worry about when docking your boat is remembering to press the button. There are so many fisherman and people that go out not wanting to create anymore work but just want to get out of the boat and go home! What I propose is we create a self docking boat! The boats rope would have some sort of magnetic metal in it so that when it is ejected it will automatically go to where the metal is. I also want to make automatic fenders that pop out so you don’t have to worry about tying those up to the boat either. Can I set up something where I can further explain my innovation and show you how great of an idea this really is! I know you will love it!
hey gabriella! i really enjoyed your pitch! you did a good job by hooking the listened because even I was like "yes" after you asked the first question. the worst part of going on a boat is coming back and docking it; it always proves to be a stressful couple of minutes and takes a lot of effort. I think your idea is awesome and with a little more engineering I believe it can be a really successful product!

You seem pretty confident about this idea though so I say let it ride and see where it takes you. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteGabriella, you had me at the vision of being on a boat and being too tired to actually dock it. You came across very confident and I can really see something like this taking off. I know I could use this type of my device when docking my jet ski, even though it's not as hard as boat to dock, I somehow always bang the side of it on the dock.
ReplyDeleteI think creating some sort of name for your product would add a lot to your presentation. Although the idea is still in its beginning stages, I think having a name woould allow you to refer and talk about something concrete. I think your idea really captures some of the stresses of going out on the boat. People would take interest in soemthing that would take about some of the worries and stresses of going out on the boat.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea! We have self parking cars, so why not have self docking boats? Especially since a lot of people have trouble docking boats, especially when they're new to boating. I liked your pitch a lot, though developing a more complete vision of your product would enhance it a lot. Other than that, you had a great pitch and I really enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI've been out on my best friend's boat countless times, and prepping the boat at the end of the day is definitely the worst! I know sh would love to have a self-docking boat, as would many others. I'd like to know more about the design. You'd need to also create/market magnetized hooks on the dock, for the magnetized ropes to attach to. Also, what would the button do? Would it throw out the ropes for you, or would it just magnetize the ropes? If the ropes are magnetized 24/7, then you'd have to worry about passing any magnetic objects while out boating, which could be a real safety concern since the ropes would have to contain strong magnets for them to attach to the hooks. Lots of questions, I hope you have fun finding answers!
